Commissioned in memory of a renowned Kansas Music Educator, Concert Dance has appeared on many state required lists over the years. The unusual Smith mixed meter is most evident in the opening of this work. Percussion sets the Latin feeling in the short 2nd section followed by the lyrical statement. The finale is bright and a compilation of all that has preceded it.
